Answer 1

Sooner or later every person on this Earth will eventually ask themself “What is the purpose of life?” and to find the answer many intern themselves in a religion to draw closer to God while others seek counsel from men who have sophisticated professions to ask what their point of view on life is. People who seek guidance from either parties usually end up confused, frustrated, overwhelmed, and resented because they eventually start believing that there is no truth to pursue. The magazine “The Purpose of Life” mentions the different opinions people have referring to life such as “working hard to better the conditions of life... live, have children and later die... acquire material possessions, [etc.]” But is this all there is to life? There are major differences between scientific knowledge and belief systems knowledge which can cause a person to get confused and feel a sense of hopelessness due to the corruption among some religious confessions and frustration due to the unrealistic points of views given by professionals.

If we look at the scientific perspective based on Scientists we can see that many of these trained professionals believe in Evolution which is considered a part of scientific knowledge. What many professionals disregard is that it is still a mere theory that is based on the opinions of one man whose actions were the same as the rest of us “imperfect” and whose ideas can be debunked and easily debatable. The magazine “The Purpose of Life” stated: “The American Encyclopedia highlighted the “extraordinary grade of complexity and organization [that is observed] in live organisms” and declared: “A meticulous examination of flower, insects, and mammals indicate that all it’s parts are orderly with a precision almost incredible” If something is so orderly and perfect, how can it then be a product of casualty? Molecular biology is one of the most recent studies in science which specializes in the study of organisms using genes, atoms and molecules. Molecular biologist Michael Denton said about his discoveries: “So much is the complexity of the simplest cell that it is known [for it to be] impossible to accept that such an object was done because of an improbable and [highly unlikely] coincidence” The magazine also even stated that: “The probability that from raw material, life could emerge is so unlikely that the idea must be discarded completely”. If such an idea is so unlikely why do many scientists and professionals believe in Evolution? Firstly, it is a theory that has been high esteemed through the 20th century onto the 21st century. Secondly, it is taught as a fact instead of a theory with no precise and concise evidence through schools and colleges worldwide. Thirdly, the concept itself is taught by professionals which therefore their words have automatic validation and only a small percentage doubt the theory’s liability. Fourthly, Evolution is a theory that is part of people’s popular opinion. The real question remains though, is evolution a liable source of scientific knowledge? The answer is no.

We have to recognize that there are various forms of religions and points of views that are completely different from one another. That is why many people who are in search of God find it so difficult to stay put to just one religion because there are millions of religious confessions that claim to rejoice in Gods favor but in the end fail to provide followers with mental, emotional and spiritual fulfillment. It's to acknowledge though that there are some belief systems that provide good standards, rules and morals that benefit the individual while others promote hate, fear, and intimidation; as in the case of the Catholic Church. Catholic beliefs claim that people who die either go to a heaven or a hell; beliefs such as these are not just illogical but anti-biblical as well. The Bible mentions that “God is Love” and a God whose entire personality is based on love would not make a place of torment for those who are already deceased. A documentary made by the “Watchtower Bible and trac” titled: “Out of the darkness” mentions that: “Christian churches deviated from Gods teachings, the result was the abuse of power and untold suffering... In the centuries after the establishment of the Christian congregation we see how many of those who were taking the lead in the Christian church started to likewise love worldly wisdom. These ideas that came from Plato and other of the Greek philosophers started to infiltrate the so-called Christian thinking... They wanted to mix Christian [religion] with pagan religious ideas and the idea was to make Christianity more acceptable to those [who did pagan worship]”

Romeo and Juliet, the story of two families, Capulet and Montague’s family feud which has created lots of fights within the streets of Verona, their children Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague fall in love with each other, a love that is certainly forbidden and if their parents ever found out, how would it end…love between the families or more rivalry? Romeo changes over the course of the play by being dark and depressed, madly in love and then mourning over his loss of Juliet.

At the beginning of the play Romeo is dark and depressed because he falls in love with a girl who doesn’t have feelings for him, her name, Rosaline. Romeo has built up his feelings and is crazy for Rosaline who in contrast could care less about anything to do with Romeo. Rosaline has no intentions to fall in love with Romeo, marry him or have children with him but Romeo is blinded by his love for her, and refuses to accept this causing him deep depression. Romeo when talking to his good friend Benvolio, explains his feelings, “Why such is love’s transgression. / Griefs of mine own lie heavy in my breast, / which thou wilt propagate to have it pressed with more of thine” (Shakespeare1.1.179-182). Romeo is saying that it is so hard to be in love with Rosaline, he is so much in love with her but there are so many reasons why he cannot see her and be with her. All he can think about is Rosaline

Why does Antigone insist that Ismene not take part in her punishment?

B. She cares about Ismene and doesn't want her to suffer for a crime she didn't commit

~Hope this answers your question!~

Final answer:

Creon feels repentant as he approaches his son in the cavern, realizing the consequences of his unyielding decisions. Antigone insists Ismene not share her punishment because she wants to protect her sister from suffering for a crime she did not commit.

Explanation:

In Sophocles' play Antigone, the character of Creon undergoes a transformation as the tragic events unfold. Initially, Creon is stubborn and unyielding in his decision to punish Antigone for burying her brother Polyneices, despite the laws of the state. However, as he approaches his son Haemon in the cavern, Creon's stance shifts to one of repentance as advised by the seer Teiresias, who warns him that his stubbornness will bring about further tragedy. Realizing the severity of his actions too late, Creon's repentance comes as a result of the consequences of his unbending will - the death of his son Haemon.

Antigone, on the other hand, shows a strong sense of duty and loyalty to her family when she insists on burying her brother, Polyneices, despite Creon's decree. Her insistence that Ismene not take part in her punishment stems from a deep sense of responsibility and protection for her sister. She does not want Ismene to suffer for a crime she did not commit and, therefore, should not be punished for. This indicates a selfless nature in Antigone, contrasting with her earlier willingness to let Ismene share in the credit for burying their brother.

Explanation:

In the process of selecting a topic, it is important to brainstorm ideas and to ensure there is material available to deal with that topic, but most importantly, it is important to define a focused research question so that the piece of writing is accurately targeted to that specific purpose and audience. Within this list, the most narrowed research topic is endangered elephants because it deals with only one species, and just one category within that species. This narrowing of the topic allows the writer to properly develop his or her research on endangered elephants rather than describing different aspects of different species. Unlike narrow topics, broad topics include many various ideas about the same topic that may impede the writer to create a highly relevant research.

B sounds right to me. Using I and we in a formal paper isn't allowed and calling the advancements he has made fascinating and life altering is only an opinion

Answer:

B.) This paper will examine recent advancements in cell phone technology made by Dr. William Hazlitt.

Explanation:

A formal tone is determined mainly by the word choices and syntax, where impersonal pronouns are chosen over first-person pronouns, the passive voice is more familiar than the active voice, and where colloquial language and contractions are totally absent. Furthermore, a formal research paper does not contain overly emotional and subjective statements such as in option A ("a fascinating explanation"), and option D ("this paper will show how lucky we are...").

Option B, then, is the one that uses a formal tone most appropriate to a research paper because the sentence is clear, concise, is in the passive voice does not have subjective opinions in it and it is not written in the first person.

Read the excerpt from "The Lady Maid's Bell." But that wasn’t the only queer thing in the house. The very next day I found out that Mrs. Brympton had no nurse; and then I asked Agnes about the woman I had seen in the passage the afternoon before. Agnes said she had seen no one, and I saw that she thought I was dreaming. To be sure, it was dusk when we went down the passage, and she had excused herself for not bringing a light; but I had seen the woman plain enough to know her again if we should meet. I decided that she must have been a friend of the cook’s, or of one of the other women servants: perhaps she had come down from town for a night’s visit, and the servants wanted it kept secret. Some ladies are very stiff about having their servants’ friends in the house overnight. At any rate, I made up my mind to ask no more questions. Which statement describes a gothic element in this excerpt that reflects a social attitude of Wharton’s time? The narrator feels inadequate when she reports seeing a supernatural being and nobody believes her. The narrator feels like she lacks control of her own fate when her superiors refuse to answer her questions. The narrator is dismissed by her superiors when she asks questions about an occurrence that may have been supernatural. The narrator fears that she may be doomed when she witnesses a strange woman walking around the home.

The correct answer is the narrator feels inadequate when she reports seeing a supernatural being and nobody believes her.

Answer:

The narrator feels inadequate when she reports seeing a supernatural being and nobody believes her is the correct answer.

Explanation:

The Lady Maid's Bell was written by Edith Wharton; this short story was first published in 1902. Hartley, a lady's maid, finds a job with Mrs. Brympton, who should stay in her country due to health problems. Hartley has a good time adapting to the house and mates, but the room opposite to hers is locked and nobody wants to hell Hartley about the pale woman.

Letter A is correct because there is a supernatural element that is not explained to the character, and even further, it is being hidden to her. The story occurs in a time when employees just did their job without asking anything about their predecessors; another indicator is that Agnes is very loyal and doesn't want to reveal nor admit that there is something wrong going on.

according to the article, what is the intended result of Russia planting its flag on the Arctic seabed?

Answers

Russia plants its flag on the Arctic seabed to assert its territorial claims and gain control over the region's resources, shipping routes, and geopolitical position.

The intended result of Russia planting its flag on the Arctic seabed is to assert its territorial claims and potentially gain control over the region's resources. By planting its flag, Russia aims to establish its sovereignty over the Arctic and secure access to the region's vast reserves of oil, natural gas, and other valuable minerals.

Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014 and its continuing territorial goals in the region demonstrate its desire to expand its influence and control in the Arctic. The flag planting serves as a symbolic gesture to assert dominance over the Arctic and potentially strengthen Russia's geopolitical position.

Furthermore, by claiming the Arctic, Russia can also gain control over key shipping routes, such as the Northern Sea Route, which could become more accessible due to melting ice caused by climate change. This would allow Russia to exert control over maritime trade and potentially enhance its economic and military power.
