Use The Map Below To Answer The Following Question:This Is A Map Showing The Korean Peninsula Divided

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

The correct answer is 2. The defeat of Japan led to the division, with a Soviet-backed communist government in the north and a U.S.-backed democratic government in the south.

Explanation:

At the suggestion of US General Douglas MacArthur, in October 1943 the heads of state of the United States and the USSR met in Moscow and agreed that the USSR would declare war on Japan once the war in Germany had ended. This decision was supported by the belief that the Japanese Empire was more vulnerable in the north, in Manchuria and Korea, than in the south, in the Philippines, where it was winning the battles.

On August 8, 1945, two days after the atomic bombing of Japan in Hiroshima by the US, the USSR declared war on Japan and the next day attacked the Korean peninsula in the north. This decision alarmed the United States, that after the atomic bombings on Japan, thus ensuring the early Japanese surrender, were no longer interested in the entry of the Soviet Union into the war. One day after the second atomic bombing of Japan in Nagasaki on August 10, 1945, the United States sends troops to Busan, south of the Korean peninsula. Korea, on the other hand, counted on a guerrilla of communist ideology that faced Japan and supported the measures of the USSR. The American troops were also well received at their landing in Busan, to the south.

On August 10, when preparing the general surrender of Japan, the Operations Division of the US Department of War chose the 38th parallel as the boundary of the country's defense. On August 15 the surrender was published. Joseph Stalin, in a climate of growing tension between the United States and the Soviet Union, ordered his troops to stop north of the 38th parallel, while US troops were stationed south of it at the same time. Stalin admitted the surrender of Japan and said nothing about the division of Korea. The Americans took this act as an acceptance of the division.

Which of these was true under the Articles of Confederation?
O
A. Larger states had more votes in Congress.
O
B. Congress had great power to enforce laws.
Congress could raise taxes.
O
D. Each state had one vote in Congress.

Answers

Answer:

D. Each state had one vote in Congress.

Explanation:

The Articles supported the Continental Army and allowed the thirteen states to form a united front before the European powers. However, as a tool to build an effective government in times of war, it was a failure. Congress could make decisions, but did not have the power to apply them. Perhaps, the biggest setback was the requirement of unanimous approval of the 13 States to modify the articles. At the same time, the most important power that Congress lacked was the power to collect taxes: it could only request money from the States. These, for their part, did not always comply with the demands and Congress did not have the necessary funds for its operation. States and Congress had become indebted during the war, and the payment of debts was a matter of national importance.

However, the Congress of the Confederation took two very important actions. The Land Ordinance of 1785 established the provisions of land that would be used during the later expansion of the country. The Ordinance of 1787 (Ordinance Northwest) formalized the resignation of the thirteen original states of the western lands and, at the same time, allowed the entry of new States to the confederation.

As soon as the unit that demanded the War of Independence became unnecessary, the Continental Army disbanded, although a very small force was retained to protect the forts and defend the States against the attacks of the Amerindians. However, each State had its own army and 11 of the 13 States had an army. The promises of wealth and land grant that would be made during the war were not fulfilled. In 1783, George Washington pacified the Newburgh conspiracy, but the riots of Pennsylvania veterans who had not received their payments forced Congress to leave Philadelphia on June 21.

Answers

Answer:

protect Saudi Arabia and Kuwait against Iraq

Explanation:

In 1991, Iraq led by Saddam Hussein, decided to attack Kuwait. There were two reasons for this. One was that Saddam Hussein thought that Kuwait belongs to Iraq, and the other was the large oil reserves. The Iraqi military moved and invaded Kuwait without any problem, and it also had its sights on Saudi Arabia. This rang the alarm in the US and the UN, as they didn't wanted the majority of the oil reserves to be in the hands of the Iraqi dictator. The US and the UN sent their troops in Kuwait in order to push back the Iraqis, and they managed to do it, liberating Kuwait, and securing Saudi Arabia from Iraqi invasion.

Answer:

Economic development does not necessarily provide a high standard of living

Explanation:

Very often the GDP is taken as a measure for the strength of an economy, at rightly so, but it is also often used as a measure of the standard of living and the human development index, and that is very wrong. While the high GDP always results in better living conditions, it doesn't mean that the improvements are big, or that the population has a high standard of living. We can take China as an example. It is one of the biggest economies in the world, second to be more specific. Its GDP is enormous, and it is constantly on the rise. On the other hand, the people do not have a high standard of living, and are far behind lot of nations where the GDP is much lower. Also, the people are very limited in numerous things, be it the internet and what is available on it or freedom of speech, they are on relatively low level.

Biography of Frida Kahlo

Answers

Answer:

HERE>>>>.!

Explanation:

Considered one of the Mexico's greatest artist, Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907 in Coyocoan, Mexico City, Mexico. She grew up in the family's home where was later referred as the Blue House or Casa Azul. He father is a German descendant and photographer. He immigrated to Mexico where he met and married her mother Matilde. Her mother is half Amerindian and half Spanish. Frida Kahlo has two older sisters and one younger sister.

Frida Kahlo has poor health in her childhood. She contracted polio at age of 6 and had to be bedridden for nine months. This disease caused her right leg and food grow much thinner than her left one. She limped after she recovered from the polio. She has been wearing long skirts to cover that for the rest of her life. Her father encouraged her to do lots of sports to help her recover. She played soccer, went swimming, and even did wrestle, which is very unusual at that time for a girl. She has kept a very close relationship with her father for her whole life.

Frida Kahlo attended the renowned National Preparatory School in Mexico city in year of 1922. There are only thirty-five female students enrolled in that school and she soon became famous for her outspokenness and bravery. At this school she first met the famous Mexican muralist Diego Rivera for the first time. Rivera at that time was working on a mural called The Creation on the school campus. Frida often watched it and she told a friend she will marry him someday.

At the same year, Kahlo joined a gang of students which shared the similar political and intellectual views. She fell in love with the leader Alejandro Gomez Arias. On a September afternoon when she traveled with Gomez Arias on a bus the tragic accident happened. The bus collided with a streetcar and Frida Kahlo was seriously injured. A steel handrail impaled her through the hip. Her spine and pelvis are fractured and this accident left her in a great deal of pain, both physically and physiologically.

She was injured so badly and had to stay in the Red Cross Hospital in Mexico City for several weeks. After that she returned home for further recovery. She had to wear full body cast for three months. To kill the time and alleviate the pain, she started painting and finished her first first self-portrait the following year. Frida Kahlo once said, "I paint myself because I am often alone and I am the subject I know best". Her parents encouraged her to paint and made a special easel made for her so she could paint in bed. They also gave her brushes and boxes of paints.

Frida Kahlo reconnected with Rivera in 1928. She asked him to evaluate her work and he encouraged her. The two soon started the romantic relationship. Despite her mother's objection, Frida and Diego Rivera got married in the next year. During their earlier years as a married couple, Frida had to move a lot based on Diego's work. In 1930, they lived in San Francisco, Calfonia. Then they moved to New York City for Rivera's artwork show at Museum of Modern Art. They later moved to Detroit while Diego Rivera worked for Detroit Institute of Arts.

In 1932, Kahlo added more realistic and surrealistic components in her painting style. In the painting titled Henry Ford Hospital(1932), Frida Kahlo lied on a hospital bed naked and was surrounded with a few things floating around, which includes a fetus, a flower, a pelvis, a snail, all connected by veins. This painting was an expression of her feelings about her second miscarriage. It is as personal as her other self-portraits.

In 1933, Kahlo was living in New York City with husband Diego Rivera. Rivera was commissioned by Nelson Rockefeller to create a mural named as Man at the Crossroads at Rockefeller Center. Rivera tried to include Vladimir Lenin in the painting, who is a communist leader. Rockefeller stopped his work and that part was painted over. The couple had to move back to Mexico after this incident. They returned and live in San Angel, Mexico.

Frida Kahlo and Diego Rievea's marriage is not an usual one. They had been keeping separate homes and studios for all those years. Diego had so many affairs and one of that was with Kahlo's sister Cristina. Frida Kahlo was so sad and she cut off her long hair to show her desperation to the betrayal. She has been longed for children but she cannot bear one due to the bus accident. She was heartbroken when she experienced a second miscarriage in 1934. Kahlo and Rivera has been separated for a few times but they always went back together. In 1937 they helped Leon Trotsky and his wife Natalia. Leon Trotsky is a exiled communist and rival of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. Kahlo and Rivera welcomed the couple together and let them stay at her Blue House. Kahlo also had a brief affair with Leon Trotsky when the couple stayed at her house.

Final answer:

Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a famous Mexican painter known for her self-portraits and her marriage to Diego Rivera. Her artwork reflected her Mexican roots and incorporated elements of Mexican folk art. Despite her challenges, Kahlo used her art to express her pain and her resilience.

Explanation:

Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a famous Mexican painter who was known for her self-portraits and her marriage to Diego Rivera. Kahlo's artwork often reflected her typical Mexican roots, incorporating various elements of Mexican folk art, culture and the historical images. She faced many challenges in her life, including a bus accident that left her with life-long pain.

Despite her difficulties, Kahlo also used her innovative art to express her pain and her resilience. One of her most famous works, The Two Fridas, is a double self-portrait that represents her struggle between her Mexican heritage and her European influences.

What was the core belief of the national fascist party of Italy

Answers

Answer: That a government should take form of a military dictatorship.

Answer:

Fascism had a populist belief in exploring issues such as the nation's endemic corruption, economic crises, or the "decline of traditional and moral values" of society. In addition, to argue that radical changes in the status quo (Latin expression to refer to the “current state of affairs”) should happen.

Explanation:

Fascism is understood by political scientists and historians as the radical form of expression of the political spectrum of the conservative right.

Fascism is a concept that generates much debate because of its complexity, since it is a political movement that adapts to different circumstances and appropriates the ideals of different ideologies.  In any case, fascism, as a political and social movement, was based on populist belief that explores issues such as the nation's endemic corruption, crises in the economy, or the "decline of traditional and moral values" of society. In addition, it argues that radical changes in the status quo (Latin expression to refer to the "current state of affairs") must happen.

Since it occupies spaces of power, fascism becomes an extremely authoritarian regime based on social exclusion, therefore hierarchical and quite elitist.

5)D

Explanation: 3) D but im not sure.

Answer:

The French and Indian War took place in two different scenarios: Europe, between France and England and their allies, and in America, particularly along the British-French border, towards the fork of the Ohio River. The war happened between 1754 and 1763, and while in America it was called the French and Indian War, in Europe it was known as the Seven Years War. It ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The following would be the answers to the questions:

1. A. France and Britain disputed borders in the Ohio River Valley. At the time, there were around 60.000 French colonizers around the area, and 2 million settlers of British descent. They competed for the trading routes and the lands offered near the Ohio River, especially between the French and British border.

2. D. They suffered negative consequences because they lost both their land and their allies. Although at the end of the war the British King issued a proclamation that reserved all lands west of the Appalachians for the First Nations, this was not kept, and British settlers moved to Indian lands without stop. Also, with the removal of their French protectors, the Indians were left to fend for themselves.

3. C. Increased British debt. This was also the case for France. The two nations were hugely indebted after the war.

4. D. Tribes allied with both sides during the war. On the British side the Iroquois, the Cherokee and the Catawba supported colonists against the French, but the majority of the tribes, like the Ottawa, supported the French.

5. D. Spain and Britain. Both of these gained from France. Spain gained Louisiana from the French after loosing Florida to the British, and Cuba was restored in the Treaty of Paris. Also Britain gained Canada and took away most of the French colonies.
